windfarm

What Will It Look Like?

It is hard to imagine what five 100 metre high turbines on the outskirts of Auchtermuchty will look like.

As a rough guide the pylons that march across Glassarts and past the common are only 50 metres tall, so the wind turbines will be twice that high.

The following pictures are computer-generated and give an approximate indication of what the windfarm will look like from different places around town.

These pictures help to bring home how close this development is to the town and how high the turbines will be.

Note: these pictures were generated before EnergieKontor publicised the exact positions of the turbines and are based on informed conjecture.

And finally, to put the size of the proposed turbines in a perspective that residents of Auchtermuchty will appreciate, here is a drawing of one of the turbines next to Auchtermuchty Town Hall and bell tower.
